Part 4 of the Bridging to a 7 series: Integration. Never underestimate IB examiners' creativity. They'll find new ways to weave the topics you least expected into integration questions, way beyond what you're expecting.  Today's discussion is on integrating what you've learned to solve new problems. Hiya! Now that the M25s are in progress, your finals are right around the corner. The third part of the series turns our attention to trig functions and identities - the one topic that defeats many SL/HL students.  The real problem usually comes from a weak understanding of the basics, as a lot of students "get by" trig by partial credits. This is the roadblock to level 7 - you'll need to be very comfortable with the simple stuff to have a real shot at these questions. In today's notes, we look at 5 examples and 6 practice questions, some of which only pertain to HL students. Hiya! This is the second post in the series to help level 5/6 students to tackle the hardest questions on the exam. Last time we looked at why hard questions are hard. Today we'll put it into action for the seemingly straightforward topics, quadratics and logarithms. Before reading the examples, please make sure you're ready for the challenge. If you're unable to answer most of 'a' level questions on the unit tests, you should be brushing up on the basics instead of losing hairs over this. 4 questions, two on logarithms and two on quadratics, are discussed. From the more simple items to incredibly demanding manipulations, we'll walk through each one of them, following the thought process that leads to the final answer.
