[AAHL][AASL] (Unit Test v2.4) Sequences and series

Image
Hiya! Welcome to another unit test on sequences and series. General sequences/series, arithmetic and geometric series. (The first standard is not officially part of the course - except the sigma notation - but it builds the foundation for sequences and series at the end of the course and in uni.)    Three standards, the usual time crunch applies. No calc. If you're looking for more personalised support, don't hesitate to reach out and complete the form ! I'm @adventurousandrew on Discord.   AAHL: AAHL MS: AASL: AASL MS: Andrew

[AAHL][AASL] Sequences and Series (Unit Test v2.3)

Hey y'all. It's almost the end of February. For November students, most likely you'll have prelims/mocks coming up. For May students, the exams are right around the corner. Enjoy the last time you'd have a lot of time to revise before taking your final exams - quite likely you won't have this in uni. Feb also means Andrew's mock season's coming up. The mocks will (tentatively) take place on the first week of April . The results shall be available by mid-April, allowing us (a fellow proofreader/grader and I, most probably) sufficient time to return the scripts to you. I'll also host a series of sessions on the IB server; highly recommend to check it periodically for updates. I'm seriously considering a live "survival guide" session (or probably several) and of course, the regularly scheduled trigonometric functions and identities. Now back to the unit tests. Today's tests feature sequences and series, with the third standard specifically...

[AASL][AAHL] Sequences and Series (Unit Test v2.2), with solutions

Hi y'all! N24, your exams are right around the corner. I'll do what I can to help you get the best mark possible, but most of the work falls on your shoulder.  This IB Maths AA unit test focuses on arithmetic and geometric sequences and series, providing students with valuable practice for their upcoming exams. The test covers key concepts such as the sigma notation and basic sequences notation, arithmetic and geometric sequences and series, and word problems involving the two types of the series. Use this test to assess your understanding and identify areas where you need further review. There's a wide variety of questions, from finding a term in the sequence given two terms, to a more involved problem requiring the use of simultaneous equations. Enjoy! AAHL: AAHL MS:  May the odds be ever in your favour. Andrew

[AAHL][AASL] [Unit Test v2] Sequences and series

Hey y'all. How's 2023 treating you? Hope everything's going well, but if not, fingers crossed things will get better! Here's the third set of tests from [v2]: Sequences and series! AAHL AASL AAHL Answers AASL Answers As usual, if there are any errors, let me know and I'll fix asap! Have fun folks. For M23:  START PREPARING FOR YOUR FINALS! By now you should've covered most of the content. It's now time to put everything together and get the grades you deserve. Mocks will be coming in April, ideally   on the first week of April. A bit of hectic scheduling for me, but I'm positive things will be alright. Ciao!

[AAHL][AASL] Revision Guide: Topic 1.1

Henlo kiddos! Really hope everyone's doing great. Tis is the time of the year when N23s have barely started the course (and I see many of them are doing sequences and series) while M22s better start revising for the exams. Just a friendly reminder: unless you've been told explicitly  by your school that exams won't go forward, please  do yourself a favour and study NOW if you wanna do well. Due to popular demand (~40 votes in the Mocks server, not a small proportion) one of my focuses for this year is writing end-of-topic revision guides. I probably won't write these for EVERY SINGLE TOPIC , as some topics never  show up as a grade 7 question (I'm looking at you, correlation).  For more info re: the structure and the purpose of this booklet, read the second page, but here's a tl;dr: Different target audience - this booklet is aimed at everyone, including those shooting for a 7. Some questions are deliberately  set at that level. For more accessible questions, pl...

[AAHL][AIHL][AASL][AISL] Sequences and series

This is the first time we have the FULL HOUSE on this website! It's Tuesday and I'm back with FOUR (yes, four) tests this round mainly because they're pretty much identical  for all courses on sequences and series. Even though I do expect that most people have covered this topic by now, including M23s (god I'm old), this should still be a challenging for everyone, especially AISL. I feel kinda bad for not writing a totally different paper for ya, but I'm treating you guys in the same way as the AASL kiddos because the two courses are supposed to be equivalent . Since I'm in the mood to write stuffs, there might  be another post re Optimisation using calculus, something I've had a chance to teach yesterday. This is a poorly done topic most of the time  - so I think my advice can help some people out. Alright, boys and girls and bis and everyone in between, behold.
